je ne sais quoi l {Joe} l Eisenhower High School Senior Portrait Photographer l Kari Dawson

Another high school senior that worked-it-out! Joe forgot his jeans at home so we sent mom off to retrieve them; mom’s are awesome! We finished shooting in his first set of clothes before she returned and had a while to chat together. I won’t admit how many years younger Joe is than I but I will say that his pure, totally abandoned, and passionate heart for the Lord is such an inspiration! Dare I admit I could learn a thing or two from Joe… I must. Joe your future is so bright you need shades! You are humble and meek and gentle and passionate and completely unashamed. Continue to walk in the path He has set before you.

life’s moments l {Wendt Family} l Shelby Twp., MI Family Photographer l Kari Dawson

The Wendt family and I buzzed about the beautiful Mae Stecker/Heritage Park. The geese were all about our approach until they figured out we didn’t have food and one actually hissed at me while trying to exit the area. Two beautiful parents created these three lovelies…

Little Lauren’s smile just lights up the world!

life’s moments l {Stone Family} l Shelby Twp. MI Family Photographer l Kari Dawson

I chase toddlers…and I love it! I’m left in awe after photographing little ones at this stage because they express utter curiosity and amazement at each new thing. In most cases everything around them is new and I just love how they HAVE to check it all out. How cute is little ‘J’?!? His precious face and the cutest haircut ever just stole my heart. The Stone family was referred to me by a dear friend of mine and I’m so glad we had the chance to get together and I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to capture this precious stage of ‘J’s’ life. That stage when the wonder and curiosity is still so inspiring and precious because it hasn’t yet turned into independence and free will and, God forbid, the dreaded word ‘NO’ which all kiddos inevitably do figure out how to use. Miss Stone, Mr. Stone, your family is beautiful and I’m thankful to have met and worked with you!
