jim & julie {i do}

I always have pre-wedding jitters myself before I arrive and begin my day with my brides and/or couples but Julie really had the jitters. Her hair and make-up were perfection. The veil was in place. The day’s necessities were packed. And, after writing a letter to her father there was still time. Time to wait. Poor thing, Julie just didn’t know what to do with herself so she tried to pack lamps and odd items like light bulbs. When it was finally time at Kensington Church to make her preparations everything was perfect. The church’s chapel is gorgeous. The sun burst through the skylights of the sanctuary and the windows of the bridal room. I over hear someone tell Julie “look at this beautiful day Jesus gave you.” Because He does stuff like that, just for us, just because he loves us. And, before long Jim enters the sanctuary, ready for his bride, beaming ear to ear.

Letter to dad.

Julie has a thing for polka-dots. Cutest french manicure I’ve ever seen.

The bridal room, the light, the details… all divine.

Julie’s mom is no longer with us so she honored her with a ‘something blue’ broach that was her mothers along with a charm containing a picture of them together on her bouquet.

Striking gold is what I call it when I can find a way to add a personal touch for my couples (like the polka-dots that were on the furniture in the bridal room)

Can you tell it felt like it was below 20 outside. The sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day (from inside).

What 67 years of marriage looks like and he still looked at his bride with such honor and adoration!

chicago

Wow how time can get away from a person! I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I met my husband in Chicago for the weekend and I’ve been such a bad blogger! We enjoyed a much needed weekend together, filled with lots of laughter and lots of walking.

The highlight of my weekend was hands down the theatre production of A Chorus Line. I sat at the edge of my seat. I cried. I gave a standing ovation. And, I wasn’t alone.

coffee table books {jena sais quoi}

I haven’t photographed a high school senior girl yet that didn’t want my package with the 8×8 coffee table book. This is hugely popular. It’s such a great way to tell the story of each particular senior and really capture their personality. I love these books and have some of my own for my children and vacations.
