Where do I even begin with Sarah? Sarah’s mom and siblings are LONG time family friends. So much, that I consider them family myself. I so wish my photographs weren’t being held up in storage so I could scan and share a few from our childhood. One in particular comes to mind of Sarah and I and her sister Kelly riding bikes in the front of our Taylor apartment complex. I was wearing this black and white Michael Jackson half shirt and we both wore jelly shoes and Kelly’s hair is still as curly today as it was when we were kids.
Instead of photos, I’ll have to share memories. Like when my brother drank gasoline at her mom’s house, out of the lawnmower, and had to be rushed to the emergency room to have his stomach pumped. My brother Kevin was a walking disaster as a child so Karen (Sarah’s mom) bears no fault with this one. Or, when they lived down river near property with horses, and Kelly will hate me for this, but she got bucked off. It shouldn’t have been, but it was at the time. We were good girls, we fought but what girls didn’t? We left all the bad and embarrassing stuff to our brothers. Remember when you could change in the fitting room and it was safe to leave your kids in the department just outside? Well, that department is usually the under garment section. While Karen was trying on clothes, the fitting room attendant came to ask her if these boys were with her because they were running around with underwear on their heads. Sorry Kevin! I love ya!
Anywho, Sarah is expecting her first baby and I had the honor of photographing this special time in her life. The nursery is just gorgeous. The perfect shade of sorbet with a huge window and tons of gorgeous light beaming in. It’s gorgeous now but I highly recommend a black-out shade
Here are my favorites from Sarah’s session. I also got to shoot Kelly with her family so those are coming up next…
