If it weren’t for a photo-a-day project, I might not otherwise have these little moments captured. I’m not really a resolution kinda girl but, with every new year I do set new goals and I’m pretty good about sticking to it. I spend a lot of time preserving memories for strangers, who become friends over time, and not nearly enough time preserving my own. This project has helped hold me accountable and oh how rewarding it is to look through and really ‘see’ what often times goes un-noticed.
And… in other news. Todd might just have a romantic bone or two after all. He’s flying me into Chicago tonight to spend the weekend ALONE with him. Internet, this is huge! After sixteen years of marriage, spontaneity is not common ground. His mom left a message for me this morning and she’s so dang cute. She said “oh my gosh, I’m so excited for you. How romantic! Call me later, I’m just so excited. A romantic weekend in Chicago alone.” Like a giddy school girl. It made me value the lengths Todd is willing to go to continue to win over my heart. I feel like a crack head of a mother though; dad’s already away and now mom’s joining him. I know they’ll be in great hands though.
On with the project!
Childhood. These shots makes my heart siiiiiing!

Upclose. love it. nough said.

What I’m reading… err wishing I was reading. Since Todd is out of town, I spend what little spare time I have sleeping and I’m not even doing enough of that.

Where I sleep… sometimes it’s a bed. Sometimes it’s a movie theatre. Sometimes It’s a homework station.

Morning… this was my first clue that winter was going to make an appearance this year after all. Now that’s it’s six degrees outside, I’m over it. Bring on the summer!

Water… I’m not feeling uber creative over this one but I still kinda like it.
